The winds of autumn have arrived. With them come migrating birds.  On Monday morning Merlin helped me to identify the calls of Swamp and White-throated Sparrows, American Crows, Blue Jays, Pileated Woodpecker, Canada goose, Sandhill Crane and Trumpeter Swan.  Meadow grasses and flowers are going to seed.  Currently Milkweed, Little Blue Stem, Goldenrod, Aster, Fleabane and Bee Balm surround my Tiny House.  We have experienced a low temperate of 31.8 degrees F.  Yesterday, September 29 temps reached a high of 80.

 

Enjoy another look at the three species of Swallowtail butterflies pictured on the Photo Page of this website.  All the photos were taken while I was playing golf on the Luck Municipal Golf Course at the beginning of the month.
